Hi, Welcome to the new and improved KQ Minerals web page.  My name is Keith Hayes and my goal is to help you purchase attractive and interesting mineral specimens.  Nope, I don't want to sell you the most expensive specimens and no, I don't want to sell you ugly rocks.  What I want to do, is provide an interesting selection of minerals for reasonable prices.  Some will be rare, some will be gemmy, and some will be interesting.

I've been in the business for almost 16 years now.  I started as a field collector and buyer at local shows in Michigan.  I frustrated with the poor selection and bad attitudes of some of the longtime dealers.  I decided that I could do better and I made a resolution to give it a try.  I attend many of the big shows in the US (Denver, Tucson, Springfield, Cinci, etc.)  I sometimes go on buying adventures overseas... Peru, Brazil, even Munich.  And when I see something interesting at a reasonable price, I try to acquire it for resale. 

For the last 4 years, I have been working with John Veevaert to run his auction page www.Mineral-Auctions.com.  We, along with many other dealers, have fun posting a variety of specimens.  If you haven't seen the page, be sure to check it out.  I've known John a long time and we have a lot of fun working together to bring you the auction.

During the day, I am a chemical engineer.   I find the minerals to be a nice respite from main job and view them as chemistry gone slow. 

I do buy minerals, so let me know if you want to get rid of a collection or some excess.
